Hickory Creek Heroes
April 9, 2020The Plains, Ohio - We are so excited to honor and introduce you to our Hickory Creek Heroes! Each week we will be posting a few of our Heroes along with a special message about what makes them so amazing! You will get to meet everyone on our team! Make sure you click on the individual picture to get to know each hero a little better and what makes them so special. We thought you might like to get to know our heroes behind the mask!

Get to know Dreama behind the mask! Dreama Pickens, RN, has been a nurse for 14 years and served as a hero at Hickory Creek for over 12 years! When she is not being a hero on the front-line as a nurse, she is a hero at her home; she enjoys spending time with her family, playing games, and taking walks. She also loves to cut the grass. When we asked Dreama what her favorite thing about her job at Hickory Creek was, she said, "Sharing stories with the residents and hearing their laughter, especially during this difficult time. Also, getting to work with the best group of people that support each other. Our facility is full of heroes doing everything we can to keep our residents and staff safe and healthy!" We also asked Dreama what advice she would give to the public about the COVID-19 Pandemic. Dreama said, "Please stay home and wash your hands frequently throughout the day. Each of us has to do our part to stop the spread. We are America Strong!!" Thank you for being our Hero, Dreama!
Get to know Jennifer behind the mask! Jennifer Loudermilk, STNA, has been a nursing assistant for 22 years and served as a hero at Hickory Creek for 15 years! When she is not being a hero on the front-line as an STNA, she loves spending time with her family and her dogs. When we asked Jennifer what her favorite thing about her job at Hickory Creek was, she said, "The residents and being able to see them smile!" We also asked Jennifer what advice she would give to the public about the COVID-19 Pandemic. Jennifer said, "Cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing and wash your hands often." Thank you for being our Hero, Jennifer!
Get to know Denzil behind the mask! Denzil Roberts has been a hero in our housekeeping department for 12 years! When he is not being a hero on the front-line for our facility, he enjoys going to the demolition derby. When we asked Denzil what his favorite thing about his job at Hickory Creek was, he said, "getting to work with the residents!" We also asked Denzil what advice he would give to the public about the COVID-19 Pandemic. Denzil said, "The best advice I could give would be to stay home." Thank you for being our Hero, Denzil!
Get to know Rachael behind the mask! Rachael Coey, LPN, has served as a hero at Hickory Creek for over 17 years! Rachael served as an STNA at Hickory Creek until she became a nurse in 2011; now, she is one of our Unit Managers and does an amazing job! When she is not being a hero on the front-line as a nurse, she likes to spend her free time with her family. When we asked Rachael what her favorite thing about her job at Hickory Creek was, she said, "I like knowing that the care I am giving makes a difference!" We also asked Rachael what advice she would give to the public about the COVID-19 Pandemic. Rachael said, "Stay at home to protect the vulnerable population!" Thank you for being our Hero, Rachael!
Get to know Missy behind the mask! Melissa Arrington has served as a hero at Hickory Creek for 28 years in our dietary department. When she is not being a hero on the front-line for our facility, she enjoys spending time with her family and reading. She also enjoys going to the beach and says, "It's my happy place!" When we asked Missy what her favorite thing about her job at Hickory Creek was, she said, "My Hickory Creek family! I work with some awesome people! Our residents are awesome too!" We also asked Missy what advice she would give to the public about the COVID-19 Pandemic. Missy said, "First, I would tell them not to panic, especially if you have children! Children take the lead from you and I have always told my kids not to panic unless they see me panic. Follow the Government's guidelines; stay home, unless necessary! Help your neighbors!"
