Holiday Highlights: A Joyous December at Hickory Creek

December was a whirlwind of festive activities and joyous celebrations at Hickory Creek of Athens, bringing residents, staff, and families together in the holiday spirit. The month commenced with a burst of creativity as residents and staff adorned Christmas trees and various units with personalized decorations, creating a festive ambiance throughout the facility.

A heartfelt thank you is extended to our dedicated volunteers, who consistently make every month special for our residents. Their unwavering support in activities, cooking, and resident dinners adds an extra layer of warmth, especially during the holiday season. We'd also like to thank our community partners like The Am Vets Post 76, Maurice’s, and TS Tech for their generous donations, enhancing the holiday experience for our residents.



Santa made multiple appearances, spreading joy with milk and cookies for our employees' families and distributing candy canes to residents. The air buzzed with excitement as residents participated in a Secret Santa gift exchange, creating cherished moments filled with laughter and delight. The highlight of the month was our annual resident holiday dinner, where families relished good food and the festive spirit.

We ended the exciting month with Spirit Week, featuring themed days that brought smiles to the faces of residents and staff alike. The festivities peaked with our resident New Year's Eve celebration, promising a joyful conclusion to the year while ensuring everyone got a good night's rest.
