Therapy Success Story - Mrs. Ousley

Hickory Creek of Athens is dedicated to providing the best care possible for our residents. As a skilled nursing facility in the Foundations Health Solutions portfolio, we know the importance of catering our care based on the needs of each of our residents individually. Our experienced team gives their all to our residents and recognizes that it’s never about the role, and always about the goal.

When it comes to our rehabilitation residents, our goal is to give them the tools necessary to not only leave our facility with a higher quality of life but to set them up for continued success once they are out of our care. We love celebrating these victories and recognizing the hard work our residents put in to get back their independence.

We’d like to recognize Mrs. Ousley who came into Hickory Creek for Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy services after being hospitalized due to a fall at home. When Mrs. Ousley arrived, she required assistance with all functional mobility, ambulation and self-care tasks. Mrs. Ousley worked with our Occupational Therapy team to complete upper body strengthening exercises and repetition with self-care tasks to regain her independence. She worked with Physical Therapy and improved her lower body strength, ambulation with and without her walker, and improved with safety awareness during functional mobility.



Mrs. Ousley worked hard with the Therapy team to regain her strength and endurance so that she could return home with her family. She was so excited to see her many grandchildren!

Our in-patient and out-patient therapy programs are designed to help you maximize strength and endurance to regain independence and general mobility within the home setting. Our therapists provide an innovative approach seven days a week while progressing patients to their maximum potential allowing for a safe transition to home.
