Hickory Creek Heroes: Annie, Tina, Jume, Debbie, Dena, and Sam!

Get to know Annie behind the mask! Annie Young, STNA, has been a nursing assistant for 27 years and served as a hero at Hickory Creek for 21 of those years! When she is not being a hero on the front-line as a nurse aide, she enjoys relaxing and spending her free time at home. When we asked Annie what her favorite thing about her job at Hickory Creek was, she said helping others because it gives her a happy feeling! We also asked Annie what advice she would give to the public about the COVID-19 Pandemic. Annie said, "Listen, stay home as much as possible and social distance!" Thank you for being our Hero, Annie!
Get to know Tina behind the mask! Tina Owens, LPN, has worked in the healthcare industry for 13 years, and has served as a hero at Hickory Creek for seven years! Tina is also one of our Unit Managers and we are so lucky and thankful to have her in this position! When she is not being a hero on the front-line as a nurse, she loves spending time with family; especially her four grandbabies! When we asked Tina what her favorite thing about her job at Hickory Creek was, she said, "My residents are like extended family and we have an excellent team here!" We also asked Tina what advice she would give to the public about the COVID-19 Pandemic. Tina said, "Evaluate what is truly essential and please stay home!" Thank you for being our Hero, Tina!

Get to know Jume behind the mask! Jume Risner has been a hero in our activities department for over 20 years! Jume is always bringing smiles to the residents' faces, and we can always count on her to offer a helping hand. When she is not being a hero on the front-line for our facility, she enjoys reading! When we asked Jume what her favorite thing about her job at Hickory Creek was, she said, "I am able to cheer up our residents and make them happy!" We also asked Jume what advice she would give to the public about the COVID-19 Pandemic. Jume said, "To be honest to the public if you are sick." Thank you for being our Hero, Jume!
Get to know Debbie behind the mask! Debbie Orsbon has worked in the healthcare industry for over 30 years and has been as a hero at Hickory Creek for over 20 years! She has been working in our front office as an administrative assistant for 14 years, but has also served as an STNA for the facility. We can ALWAYS count on Debbie to work wherever and whenever we need her help. When she is not being a hero on the front-line for our facility, she enjoys camping, fishing, and spending time with her family! When we asked Debbie what her favorite thing about her job at Hickory Creek was, she said, "The residents, their smiles, their stories, and just spending time with them!" We also asked Debbie what advice she would give to the public about the COVID-19 Pandemic. Debbie said, "Be patient, stay home, wash your hands, and enjoy time with your family. Life is short." Get to know Dena behind the mask! Dena Angle, Physical Therapy Assistant, has served as a Hero at Hickory Creek for 21 years! When she is not being a hero on the front-line for our facility, she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family! When we asked Dena what her favorite thing about her job at Hickory Creek was, she said, "Seeing my patients recover and be able to return home." We also asked Dena what advice she would give to the public about the COVID-19 Pandemic. Dena said, "the best advice would be to wash your hands often, practice social distancing, and above all, keep the faith that things will eventually get better!" Thank you for being our Hero, Dena!
Get to know Sam behind the mask! Samantha Moon, LSW, has been a social worker for 6 years and served as a hero at Hickory Creek for over 4 years! When she is not being a hero on the front-line as a SW, she loves to spend time with family, enjoys being outside, exercising, and reading in her free time! When we asked Sam what her favorite thing about her job at Hickory Creek was, she said," Learning- being able to learn and hear about residents' lives and accomplishments as well as learning from my coworkers. My favorite thing is not a thing- it is all the people, staff, and residents that I get to see every day!" We also asked Sam what advice she would give to the public about the COVID-19 Pandemic. Sam said, "Stay educated but remain calm. Use this as an opportunity to focus on family and self-exploration!" Thank you for being our Hero, Sam!
