Get to know
Brandon behind the mask! Brandon Hill, RN-DON, has been a nurse for five years. Before becoming a nurse, he was an STNA for three years. He has been a hero at Hickory Creek for four years, serving as the DON for almost 3 of those years. We are very thankful for his leadership and the support and guidance he has offered our clinical team throughout this pandemic. When he is not being a hero on the front-line as a nurse, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. When we asked Brandon what his favorite thing about his job at Hickory Creek was, he said, "I like the home-like environment at Hickory Creek. Our residents and employees are like family!" We also asked Brandon what advice he would give to the public about the COVID-19 pandemic. Brandon said, "Check on your loved ones often. And when this is all over, you should continue to check in with them." Thank you for being our Hero, Brandon!

Get to know Michelle behind the mask! Michelle Mitchell is a cook in our dietary department. She has been a hero at Hickory Creek for 27 years! When she is not being a hero on the front-line as a cook here at the facility, she loves to cook at home. She says she enjoys trying out new recipes. When we asked Michelle what her favorite thing about her job at Hickory Creek was, she said, "the people I work with and I get to do what I love to do – cook!" We also asked Michelle what advice she would give to the public about the COVID-19 pandemic. Michelle said, "Stay at home if possible and if you can't, be safe in what you are doing." Thank you for being our Hero, Michelle!

When she is not being a hero on the front-line, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, shopping, and reading. She also enjoys keeping her daughter entertained by going on walks, playing outside, and playing games with her! When we asked Shannon what her favorite thing about her job at Hickory Creek was, she said, "being able to put a smile on their faces with a letter from a family member, a video chat with a family member, or keeping them busy with their favorite activity!" We also asked Shannon what advice she would give to the public about the COVID-19 pandemic. Shannon said, "Stay home, stay safe, and wash your hands." Thank you for being our Hero, Shannon!

When we asked Angie what her favorite thing about her job at Hickory Creek was, she said, "Being appreciated and hearing from residents that made my day.' Getting a note from a co-worker that says, 'I appreciate your help.' And family members saying, 'Thanks for helping my mom.'" We also asked Angie what advice she would give to the public about the COVID-19 pandemic. Angie said, "Pick up your phone; call just to chat with a friend or family member.
